Winter Fise

Put on your woolly hat, your gloves and your good mood and head off to the Peyragudes ski resort (Hautes-Pyrénees) to try out new board sports. The WINTER FISE, a "2011, Year of the Pyrénées" event, from the 2 - 4 March is back to fire your imagination with new shows and spectacular competitions.

Winter FISE at Peyragude: 100% Freestyle!

On the programme this year are incredible freestyle snowmobile (or FSX) shows at the foot of the ski slopes (Peyresourde side). This new and very popular sport in Nordic countries, Alaska and other snowy countries is making its come back in the Pyrénées! Top Riders (athletes), like Daniel Bodin, will be there for the show with breathtaking tricks and stunts and stuff. There will be new additions and not the least our 2 wheeled friends will be there, with bmx flatland shows (bmx art form style) and a unique and avant-garde MTB slopestyle competition called the FISE EXPERIENCE. There will also be lots of competitions at amateur and pro level in freestyle ski, snowscoot (snow Bmx) and Big Air snowboard, which will pace the days. These will be organised in conjunction with the FFS (French Ski Federation) and the PST (Pyrénées Snowboard Tour). The Freestyle and snowboard winning prize is a package with two helicopter drops with Planète Freeride as well as Prize money for all the winners.

What is the FISE?

The FISE is the biggest European Freestyle sport competition which takes place every year in Montpellier’s town centre during the Ascension weekend, from the 1st to the 5th of June. Other events have appeared during the past few years, like the WINTER FISE at Peyragudes and the 100% Freestyle French Tour, Fise Experience. A feast for your eyes and for the love of the ride... see you in Peyragudes for an unforgettable experience! This year, because it is the "2011 Year of the Pyrénées", there will be a "Year of the Pyrénées" stand present for two competition days and the training day at the bottom of the Peyragudes ski resort’s slopes, on the Peyresourde side. The stand will be open to the resort’s pedestrian and skiing visitors and information in Spanish will be available from the resort’s partners.
